LIVECoVET Consortium meets in Lisbon to advance sustainable Training in the Livestock Sector
Last week, the LIVECoVET consortium held its second in-person meeting in Lisbon, kindly hosted by our Portuguese partners. The meeting brought together organisations from across Europe and marked another important milestone in the project’s development.
Partners from eight countries — Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Romania and Greece — gathered to review progress, align on next steps and reinforce a shared commitment to improving vocational education and training in the livestock sector.
Strong Progress Across Key Work Packages
The meeting provided an opportunity to assess the significant progress achieved so far across multiple areas of the project:
- Project management and coordination (WP1): A solid structure is now in place, ensuring efficient collaboration among partners.
- Needs Analysis (WP2): Successfully completed, providing valuable insights into the current challenges and requirements of the sector.
- Skills & Policy Analysis (WP3): Finalised, helping to identify gaps and opportunities in training and policy frameworks.
- Strategic, Quality and Dissemination Plans (WP4, WP6 & WP7): Clearly defined, setting the foundation for high-quality implementation and effective communication of results.
Moving Forward: From Analysis to Development
With these key milestones achieved, the project now enters a new and exciting phase. The focus will shift towards the development of:
- A digital platform tailored to the needs of the sector
- Innovative training tools
- A modern, relevant curriculum aligned with real industry demands
A Shared Vision for the Future
Beyond the technical progress, the meeting highlighted the strong collaboration and shared vision among all partners. LIVECOVET continues to move forward with a clear objective: to support more sustainable, innovative and future-ready training for the livestock sector.
By combining expertise from across Europe, the project is laying the groundwork for meaningful, long-term impact in vocational education and training.
