Advancing LiveCoVET: Updates on Work Packages 2 and 3
Last week, the LiveCoVET team came together for a coordination and follow-up meeting aimed at reviewing progress and ensuring strong alignment across all ongoing activities within the project. This gathering allowed partners to exchange updates, discuss early findings, and establish the next steps as LiveCoVET advances toward its upcoming milestones.
Work Package 2: Needs Analysis
During the meeting, the team shared updates on the ongoing needs analysis of the livestock sector. This work involves collecting data, consulting stakeholders, and identifying the main challenges and priorities within the sector. Understanding these needs is essential for designing training that is relevant, up-to-date, and able to respond to real industry demands.
Work Package 3: Skills, Policies, and VET Frameworks
The meeting also highlighted progress in Work Package 3. Partners reviewed the current skills included in vocational education and training (VET) curricula related to livestock, along with the policies and regulations shaping VET across partner countries. By identifying skills gaps and opportunities for improvement, this work will contribute to modernising VET pathways and ensuring they remain consistent with European and national standards.
Why This Work Matters
Both work packages play a crucial role in building the foundation for the project’s future outputs. As the livestock sector continues to evolve—driven by digitalisation, sustainability requirements, and changing market expectations—VET systems must adapt accordingly. LiveCoVET aims to support this transition by developing training approaches that prepare learners for a more innovative and sustainable livestock industry.
Moving Forward
The coordination meeting reinforced the strong collaboration among partners and ensured everyone remains aligned as the project moves into its next stages. With the analyses from Work Packages 2 and 3 progressing steadily, LiveCoVET continues to build momentum toward improving vocational education and training across the sector.
